We started a new group called "Conversable Tobacco Growers". We'll try to have fun, so if you like to share the fun please feel free to join. We're here for discussing music, our experinces and the daily life. "This can be our "lounge", complete with good music, good company and good conversation"

Is anyone having trouble joining the group? I don't have a lot of experience with groups (group anything), so it might not be set-up properly.

Let me know in this thread.

Istanbulin sent me an invite, I think everything went well. This is the first forum I've been on, I don't know anything about groups either.

OK, I think I fixed the problem. Please let me know.

Don can you fix it so replies show up in real time? I keep having to hit the browser refresh button to see new replies. In a group it would be nice if we could converse like in a chat room.

Bob, will you do anything to fix it or is it ok ?

As is, it ensures the privacy of the members. Non-members can't snoop on us via the activity stream. However, member posts show up in each members activity stream so we
can keep up with each other without having to constantly go to the group forum. It is designed to work this way.

For my aging brain, the problem is that the group posts don't even show up in the count of unread posts. So it requires additional searching each time I visit the forum (in addition to reading the 100+ posts each day) just to see if there are group posts. It's certainly not insurmountable; just tedious.

If you join the group, all group posts will show up in your activity stream.

I have joined and fussed with the ways to see the group discussions. The activity stream is a messy, difficult to read scramble of everything. It's as though the "Group" functionality was an afterthought that is not fully implemented to use personal settings, and has no other proper navigation path.

There is a link to the head of the "Group" area within the "More" menu item that is white-on-white in my browser. I need a good night's sleep to not be so grumpy.
