Hi all, apologies if this has already been asked I havent seen it anywhere. Im looking at growing Burley next year for cigars. Just wondering what Burley would give a nice medium - full body strength and a moderate - High yield?

I haven't personally. As Bob pointed out, burley is quite hygroscopic. Whenever I smoke burley-based pipe blends, I have to use an extra pipe cleaner or two to keep the gurgle away. With burley in cigars I imagine I'd end up smoking a wet sponge.

From 2019.

I used to purchase burley-wrapped cigars filled with various Connecticut and Pennsylvania tobaccos (Judges Cave), while they were still produced. I often pay very little attention to the cigar filler mixtures that I roll myself, other than to blend by color and leaf stalk position. Sometimes I blend burley and even Maryland into various Caribbean cigar varieties.

Burley-based pipe blends work well, if you blend it yourself, rather than purchasing humectant-tainted, commercial stuff.

I grew Burley Original in the UK this year and it grew like buggery!

My whole crop this year was yellow twist bud, so I'm hoping I can get a mix going of the different leaves to something that will be tasty in a pipe, and also a few puro cigar's. Although I am tempted to buy some Latakia and mix some in to add some depth
