Good luck with your grow. The Perique is one I may try out next year. I'd like to now, but... I think I need to stopp at this point. Brakes applied but still heavy on the gas!

And Enjoy your Grow Season!!!

I am starting early and want to plant later so I used cups instead of the tray inserts. Might not be a good idea.Gets expensive and takes up a ton of room and more lights. I used Bobs starting mix of 3, 1, 1 peat, vermiculite and perlite. But did not use Miracle Gro Peat, I got a big bag of Sphagnum peat for 10 bucks and adding Miracle Gro Tomato food to the water at half the recommended amount.I bought a frozen bag of peat what a pita takes forever to thaw.

Watch out Brown Thumb, Boboro is a fire bug. You have a nice grow list. I was going to include a couple of those in My grow- But it got to large. Pete and sand is a good base.

image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgOkey dokey I'm getting there.
I planted the seeds in 9 oz cups with my plexi glass seed thingie I put a bunch of seeds between each hole and used a Q Tip to push a few in. Idea came from BigBonner. Thanks Larry!
Then I took a sifter with peat moss and covered the seeds with about 1/16 to 1/8 in. of peat moss. It worked Great. Idea came from DGBAMA about seeds falling in cracks, Thanks Dude.
I usually start seeds and sprouts in my furnace room on top of my 500 gallon solar hot water tank in 72 cell trays it stays hot in there.
Ran out of room fast . So I ordered some seed mats for the rest not in there. Waste of money so far the seeds in the basement are popping out also and I do have not got the mats yet.
This has become work I enjoy planting into cups. I am over 2/3 of the way there.

Looks good. That is a game room that I like. Dixie cups or cardboard egg cartons work good as well.
My kids would rather play with there I pods than play what I grew up with. Except Pool.

Good to see a random observation of mine working out well! I want to try a side by side test, surface seeded germination vs. lightly covered/dusted but have not had time. I can't help but think healthier plants should result from the light soil covering, even if at the expense of a few extra days for the germination process to be visible.

I just thinned my 3 trays of Perique, Planted it last Sunday, 7 days is pretty fast to get 1/2 in. And being covered with peat also. Almost all the other trays are popping also.image.jpg
