Hello all!

I have zero experience growing my own pipe tobacco. But I was wondering if anyone would be gracious enough to simply break down how to build a tobacco kiln. Also how long to ferment. Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forum. For growing, read the New Growers' FAQ, linked in the menu bar. You may wish to scan through the topics in our Index of Key Forum Threads, also linked in the menu bar, for a number of different style kiln builds, as well as other topics that may interest you.

In the Key Forum Threads see "Curing--Other". There are several different builds there that arrive at the same place. Temps should be 123-128F to avoid mold and to avoid killing the aging enzymes at a higher end. There should be humidity. You can kiln in a sealed container with moisture in the container or cure in the kiln without a container but supplying your own humidity inside the kiln. I use a crock pot for heat and humidity, using a programmable sensor that shuts the power off at 128 and it starts back up at 123. Read several different builds and use the one that best suits your needs. Good insulation is crucial. Keep us posted. We will gladly help you out or learn from you. We're constantly evolving within certain natural constraints.
