Are there any issues, electronic or otherwise, with using 4' grow lights in a shop light fixture that indicates on the box it is for t8 bulbs? Are standard t8 bulbs sufficient & grow lights not worth the cost?

Thanks for any help.

you can go to any store that ha s a garden section like lowes or wal-mart,

and buy you some lights that specify they are for plants/aquariums,

some are labeled as '' daylight'' bulbs,

but a shoplight bulb, isnt gonna do it too good,

i start my seedlings with grow lights, and it works perfect, but the bulb has to be the right spectrum as mentioned by leverhead,

They'd probably work fine if all you're doing is starting seedlings.

Just using them to start seedlings, for veggie garden also. At Walmart fixtures are $11 & grow lights $10ea. For ~$30 sounds like I'd have a decent system, correct?

this is what you are shooting for, as boboro said, you gotta have the light '' right on top'' of the plants or they will '' stretch'' to the light,
