Hi Bob, and everyone...from Chicago, been here, been there but grew up here.
Roll my own smokes, cigs, and smoke not-my-own cigars. I actually quit cigars for about 25-30 years but as fate would have it, inherited some Montes, Ashtons and RnJ Reals...boxes. SO I overloaded one humidor, improvised a few more humidors...and of course had to smoke one, or a few. Slowly getting to that right stage of humidity...
So introducing myself, close to 60, worked in farm ag and food manufacuring for many years. I worked during the time of the barbarians at the gate, was the last lab manager at Hawthorn Edible Oil Refinery, Salerno, even worked at Nabisco Marquette Park; huge facility, used to bike around the plant on the night shift, good times.
And these days I enjoy a good ryo with my coffee in the morning, sit out on the balcony in the evening, and smoke a cigar. Which brings me to why post on this well mannered forum and cornucopia of tobacco related knowledge. I have been ordering from WLT and others for years, after A spirit bit the dust, and I just placed an order for red and perique. Over the years I have sent a lot of people in this direction and they never go through...with it, or through the magic door. So I am going to post something later under cigarettes to help them out and save me having to talk to these people and answer questions, calm fears and generally avoid interacting at all. A few of these people live in my high rise and seeing them in our smokers park, and they're paying for low quality smoke, and I pull out my pack with custom rolled Turkish and Perique, and something I call...that enough nicotine for ya, they just look so sad. Yes we have a nice area with tables in the back of our building where smokers hang out, and smoke, and they ask me questions, lots of questions, and now I am going to point them here.
