Well, you're higher than Denver (I didn't know that was possible) so I'd recommend asking a local nursery if Nicotiana (ni-ˌkō-shē-ˈa-na) will grow in your area. The Nicotiana they'll think you're talking about is the flowering type. If tomatoes and potatoes will grow, I'm pretty sure you can get tobacco to grow there. There are many varieties grown in Puru and other mountain countries, so I think you should be good to go.

I'd recommend planting against a south facing wall so you can maximize heat and light. Also, the wall will provide some radiant heat over night in case of early frost.

One of the GRIN accessions from Peru is "Macchu Picchu" wrapper (PI 116159), which was found growing at ~6900 feet.

Also of interest might be the fact that there is a tobacco growing industry in Nepal. Yup! Nepal.

I grew 4 different varieties last year at 5500 feet. No problem. We are also dessert here so we have cold nights year round. even that did not stop the tobacco completely

My parents live in Flagstaff, AZ (7000 feet!!!). I think I'll try to grow some in their yard. I'll grow the same variety in my yard (4000 feet) and see the differences

Wow they are getting more snow than vt! We're (temporarily?) in summer already. wonder how the tobacco turns out too. AZ is an awesome state I miss it.
