I'm planning on building a 2x2x3 kiln out of styrospan (https://ca.brockwhite.com/userfiles/documents/info/2_0730632-foam-insulation_info.pdf) and heating it with a 2.4l crockpot controlled by an ink bird thermostat. I'm planning on picking up the styrospan boards today or tomorrow, just wondering if anyone has thoughts on the size of the kiln and how that could affect the curing process.

By the time you put the Crockpot inside, that won't leave much room. I would aim for 4 feet high, or more. That's just my thought on it. It's way cheaper to build a kiln that's larger than you currently need, than building two kilns (tiny one plus big one).

Thanks Bob, I can make it 2x2x4 without adding too much to the cost. The first go around will probably be taped/glued together and over the winter I'll have time to make it a proper exoskeleton kiln
