I noticed Leaf of different strain seem to take different amount of time to mature after flowering. Perticulary noticable different times with the old Swedish strains (Alida, Tofta, Per-Pers) and Rot Front.
Rot front flowered considerably slower, but Leaf maturation after flowering was fast.
Same with "latakia"(whatever strain it really is)
Rot front and Latakia both both grew far bigger and where more produktive. With similar, if not even quicker times from seed to Leaf.
I wonder of this is an fluke or If others have found similar differences between strains?
Im thinking, If time allows ill try creating a cross between for example rot front and Alida, to get a early flowering and fast growing, quickly maturing hybrid. Getting a mix of these characteristics could really changed growing tobacco with short seasons.
