After few months smoking diy corn cob I decided to try a real wooden pipe. As I do most off my hpbby related shopping on ebay, seems like a good start to search for my first pipe ever.

After many hours of searching, I decided to buy a lot of 2 estate briar pipes from Germany seller for 22 euro including postage (after my wife permission of course). I liked many US seller pipe offering of estate pipe bit the postage rate is outrages (usually double the price of the pipe)

It is a very good pipe, one has 9mm filter slot and one doesn't. I think it is a very good value for money, and I get 2 types of pipes to compare too. Maybe search for 9mm filter just to try out.

However upon closer inspection, suddenly realized why the pipes are so cheap.P_20170508_184746.jpgP_20170508_184807.jpg

One of the pipe have many hairline cracks all over. I immediately contacted the seller asking about this matter. Long story short, the crack doesn't affect smoking ability of the pipe and he agree to partial refund me. So I get 3 euro discount on the pipe. It is still a bargain as the other pipe has no problem at all and I now have 2 briar pipe to start smoking with.

I am still in the process of cleaning the pipe, and maybe repair the cracks. I have my project of making my own pipe from Tembusu wood to add to my collection. My dad give me a big piece of wood chunk that he planned to make a chopping board. But he just gave me the wood as it was never even touched from the day he acquired the wood. Here is the pic of my work in progress compared to my diy pipeP_20170508_183357.jpg

I have been eyeing some other high end estate pipes on ebay. Maybe some day I will be able to afford them. Or I just make enough pipe for my own use.

Nice pipes. Your stylin now Left. I get all of my pipes from eBay. Always good deals on there. I bought one with a small crack once. Got it real cheap and the crack never hurt the function of the pipe at all.
