Cooked up some homegrown OS and Thompson Snus 2 weeks ago in separate jars and aged them separately. Before combining them, I taste tested each one. The One Sucker has a robust nicotine content and a nice aroma, the Thompson has a milder aroma and lower nicotine content. Combined, they made a medium strength snus with a good aroma, good taste and good moldability. I used all of the midrib this time and did not do a second cook after alkalizing. Other than those two differences, everything else was done as I normally do it. Next batch I will discard one third to one half of the stem to increase the nicotine content. Or possibly, I might just increase the ratio of OS to make it more robust. Overall, I'm happy with the results. One Sucker is now one of my new favorites.
BTW, the Ainaro I grew in the spring has a nice chocolatey smell to it, so I'm anxious to try that one also, will post results when I get around to cooking it.
