Perfume like taste in tobacco

Hi everyone,

I have Iranian whole leaf tobacco that came from Oman. I use it to roll cegarettes and I have not faced any issues from more than a year. I add a lemon juice sugar solution to it in order to make it milder and that is it. In the last few days whenever I smoke I feel a strange perfume like taste in mu mouth I don’t know where it came from but I would like a way to fix it. Has anyone experienced something similar?

Many Basma-type varieties (commonly grown in Greece, Turkey and Bulgaria) offer a somewhat floral character. The only Iranian variety that I have grown and sampled is Shirazi, which was not floral. The specific tobacco variety may or may not be the source of a "perfume like taste". It might also be the result of something added to the leaf, or an acquired aroma from its warehouse storage.

yes it seems that it caught the smell from where I am storing it. Is there anyway to remove it or make it less apparent? Or maybe even changing it to something else?

You might try allowing it to dry completely, then (handling the dry leaf with care), mist it lightly to bring it back into case. Store it elsewhere.

After thorough investigating any possible cause for the taste I found out that it was not in the tobacco but in the filters.
