Making an accessory for my sawmill, to me that means a method to handle what you cut. Well I decided on a 14' length x 6' width. 8' height x 4' height, with an 8_12 pitch or 34°angle for the roof. 50 watt solar fan. Still under construction and over budget, lol, pics to come. Bring me some logs , lol. Prices negotiable. cut and dried

What kind of sawmill do you have? I almost bought a band saw a couple weeks ago but another guy beat me too it. Been wanting one for years. And with the price of lumber now days it would pay for itself pretty quickly. But mostly I just love sawing wood for some reason. lol

It's an MSG brand made in Washington state. It is 22" wide but you can cut bigger logs by rolling them to cut the cants and squaring them up. The nicest thing about this mill was the price and 24' trailer with removable wheels. My friend who built it put a lot of material and effort in the trailer and including the mill head had about $16,000 in it and sold it to me for $2500 since it sat for 5 years. I replaced the 13 hp motor with a new one. It was built 11 years ago about.

Very nice work. Even nicer when it's your own wood. At todays prices that about $1000 worth of lumber. No, if its Oak, make it $2000. I'm going to look into those saws. Heard of that make before but didn't know they were made in WA.

A 24 inch cut is pretty big. You don't find many logs that big anymore. I have 3 huge dead Douglas Firs that are about 36 inches across. I figured I would have to use my chain saw mill to cut them down a bit just so my tractor could lift them. Then they would fit on a saw mill that size. It would be a shame to just cut those trees up for firewood. Not worth spending more money for a bigger mill when I only have a few trees that size. But I have lots of trees that will fit on a 24". I want a saw mill. I need a saw mill!

Nice to hear from someone with a like interest. 22" cut x 20' on this 13 hp mini mill . We had a guy meet us for a 3' diameter pecan. After trimming a bit down 2 sides we cut a 9' trunk and the guys lift barely got it on there. I still got a couple 22" slabs from the first cuts off this mill . Hard woods are tough to push thru the drier or deader they are, I won't lie, it has handles for both sides for widest cuts , no help around here, lol . I've been wanting one for 35 years. I have loaded everything so far up to 12 post oak 18" dia. With 33 hp Kubota, I bought forks that attach to front bucket for ease with the mill. Before I was using chain hooks welded to the top of bucket to secure loads .

Who makes the motor on them? A chain saw mill gets real hard to push though a big log when you have had too many birthdays. I made mine years ago. Works good, but phew. It's work that's for sure. And it's slow going and takes out a big kerf. But you can mill down a log right where it fell. I might need to look into that auto feed option they have on those now. No help around here either. A guy finally saves enough money to do some of the things he always wanted to do. But by then you are too damn old to do half of them. heh

I made a quick pair of tongs for my tractor bucket. Nothing buy some heavy flat steel with a hole in them to bolt them on. They work, but not great. They flop around on me. I need to spend an afternoon remaking them and weld them up right.
