There doesnt seem to be a huge diffrence for the home grower, but times that by thousands of plants and it soon adds up.

It is a float tray made here in Ky , it is no different that other brands except the size and that is depth only . With and length is all the same for tobacco .
They come in several plant hole sizes .72 cell , 200 cell , 242 , 253 ,288 and one for plug plants .

With the proper soil and pelleted seeds we still get no where near 100% germination rates .
200 cell will turn out any where from 165 to 185 plants per tray .

Thanks larry, whats the self life of pelleted seed? ive read its around a couple years as its been pre germinated is that true.
I may have to try and use a float system next year, ive heard only good things about them but the equipment over here is non existent so may have to chickens approach and knock something up.

Pelletized seeds that have been partially germinated then stopped is called Primed seeds
Plain pelletized seed are only coated raw seeds .Pelletized raw seeds and primed look the same but may have a different color coating .
