Regarding astrobiology, are you meaning that photons had influence on how life developed/develops out there?

Can you grow plants in a greenhouse on Mars? How close does a planet have to be to its star, in order to generate a favorable energy flow for biomolecular interactions? Lots of questions.

Sorry I am lazy, I will read the blog from the beginning another day but I would say yes ofcourse you can grow with those lights, the more lights the better.
Read my indoor grow blog if you want but maybe it is just enough light for one or two small plants you have now.
Where in the grow are you now?

Luckily, you can find good lights at decent value on the retail market these days, you just have to research and remember that you almost always get what you pay for and no more.

The first time I did grow indoor I used free lights I got from the trash, it was flouros and it worked good. I did mount them very close together in a furniture, it was a very cool grow small grow with fluoros and PC fans, super stealthy grow, It was super fun!

What would one be looking for, instead of Lumens and colour temperature?

Look at the plants?!
Add more lights, add air circulation, add a humidifier, like I did , pretty good outcome for first time growin tobacco I say.
The quality was the best tobacco I ever had so only grime was that the harvest wad small.
I used 220 Watt for eight small plants.
