I was looking to get a brand new tobacco shredder so I bought a very old one. It’s a Marke AAL / Werke AAL.

It seem to cut not too fine/not to coarse. Probably good enough for pipe and RYO.

Blade could be sharper but I’m scare to sharpen them and finish with to much clearance.

Search the forum for "Teck 1"

Some of these older machines use non-standard screws. If you remove more than 1 screw, then separate them with a label for where they came from. I seem to recall at least one member removing the blades, and successfully sharpening them. On the Teck 1 machines, there is an adjusting screw to set the shred width. That adjustment would also allow compensating from sharpening the blades.

Teck 1 seems to work on the exact same principle. It also seems to be built exactly the same way. This one juste have a lot more decorations.

I saw a video of someone doing a complete restoration of a teck 1, that’s very impressive.
