The 2013 NW ARKANSAS TOBACCO GARDEN.

Started some big gem and virginia tobacco last thursday in a alumnium pan with a plastic lid.
Bolth pans are allready starting to grow indoors and are sprouting allready.
When these plants reach 6" im going to be planting them in 4" peat pots per individual plant.
When April comes around I will start to plant them in the garden. We got a compost pile thats about 4 feet tall.
Also have a pile of wood ash from the firepit that is about 3 feet tall to use in the garden.
The wood ash is mostly pine and white oak ash.

i also plant around april, but i dont start till the end of feb.

your getting a big jump on us,

when's your last frost in ark.?

do you start yours using light's as i do,?

Yeah we grow with shop lights out here, getting seed started early and going to start some cigar seed too.
Our last frost date is supposed to be around the 14 of april. May plant outdoors by end of april or beginning of may.
