Hello all. I’m curious how you guys keep track of watering at this stage. I was told to take the humidity dome off as soon as they sprout. Just about all my seeds have sprouted now so I just pulled the humidity dome off this morning. I have been misting my seeds about twice a day while sprouting. Do I wait now for some of the topsoil to dry up? start watering from the bottom? How much water? How often/how do you guys keep track of when to water. And at what point do you start using liquid fertilizer and what specific fertilizer are you guys using if any? Thanks so much guys have a great day

Every setup and indoor environment is different, so you have to find a system that works for you. What I do at this stage is keep 1/2" of water in the bottom of the trays at all times. This is usually sufficient to keep everything watered and prevent the top of the soil from completely drying out, which would kill the seedlings at this stage. Once they get a few true leaves on them they are quite hardy. I don't start adding fertilizer (1/4 strength) until the second set of true leaves emerge. YMMV

No misting once I see green.
Damping off mold is a risk with that, plus the localized humidity will make the stems leggy.
I just leave water at the bottom and make sure the top of the seedling medium doesn’t dry out until I see the first leaves.
My humidity right now is at 50%.
Previous years I started later, when the humidity was around 70-80% and lost seedlings to mold and damping off.
