This tobacco is from the 2018 crop year. The difference in this tobacco is that is has been fermented for a full 12 months. This is a very difficult process which requires constant monitoring of the tobacco. As with all Whole Leaf Tobacco products, the leaf is packaged in vapor-proof bags and in perfect order for working when it arrives to you. The leaf will remain in perfect condition for at least a year if unopened. Once opened, any unused leaf can be saved in this condition by re-using the packaging. Simply fold the opened end and sealing it with tape.

Nice!

Oh boy. Me and my lack of labeling. It must’ve been this one… In any case, one of the corojo ligeros here had this nice smokey kind of flavor that reminded me of a campfire slightly. Very cool. I hope this was the right one.

For me this is by far the strongest and fullest of the Dominican ligero’s including the traditional Corojo. I use it to add a fullness to a blend but its overall power overrides its flavor in comparison to the traditional corojo which is flavor over strength. Both have their place and uses though. Great leaf but like Nicarauan ligero it needs a careful hand to blend properly.

Kristina’s is a very detailed and thoughtful review. Turns out I probably had the wrong corojo in my prior review. I find this very strong with characteristic corojo spiciness. If you’re looking for a spicy ligero with a punch, this is a good choice.
