The wrapper is grown in Ecuador from Connecticut Shade (CT Shade) seed. It is delicate and thin, yet very pliable. This leaf is golden brown in color, very few veins, and is silky to the touch.
The flavor itself is moderate and subtly spicy with sweet, floral notes on the finish. The Ecuadorian-grown variety is usually slightly darker than US-grown CT Shadeleaf, has thinner veins and offers a slightly richer flavor.
As with all Whole Leaf Tobacco products, this leaf comes in proper moisture content for working, but additional moisture might be needed to make the wrapper more pliable and elastic for wrapping.

Every thing that you could want in Ecuador Connecticut Shade! Creamy and sweet with a hint of spice!

I don’t recommend this wrapper for beginners. I know this because I am one. It’s a very thin delicate wrapper and requires a bit of skill to roll. I lost about 25% of the leafs because I would damage them when trying to use them.
I gave them 4 stars because they are very nice leaves that probably make great cigars.

Superb Wrapper! I received a sample of this leaf with an order I placed and rolled one leaf into a puro…. It tasted like a cup of creamy, sweet, light roast high grade Columbian Supremo coffee. I burnt my fingers smoking it to the nub; delicious tobacco! Pairs with coffee like a fish pairs with water.

I have now rolled 70 cigars with this wrapper and personally smoked 15 of them. I’ve also given another 15 as gifts to others who have loved smoking the cigars made with it. This is some of the highest quality wrapper I’ve bought from this site. I have had almost no downgraded leaf to binder.
The leaf is plenty big enough, has a huge amount of stretch, tiny veins, and a classic Connecticut flavor profile with hints of cream, nuts, coffee, pepper, and a caramel sweetness on the finish. I still have over half of the lb left and will use that up over the next few months. Please note that being a more experienced roller is suggested for this leaf as it is paper thin and takes some skill and a very light touch to roll. That said, this is very good quality leaf.
