This tobacco is a wrapper grade and it is as wide as it is long. To use this short wrapper, all you have to do is cut your wrapper an inch or so wider to get the coverage you need in the length of the cigar. Everyone who smelled the room note said the same thing “It smells sweet”. I rolled a puro and the first thing that came to mind was very subtle hints of chocolate-covered cherries. There are only 400 lbs of this tobacco until it is gone.

Received a sample in my most recent order, will definitely be putting some in my cart next time. Not cloyingly sweet chocolate, more subtle rich cocoa – reminds me of Mata Fina, but a prettier color, finer veins, and holds up a bit better to a less-experienced hand like mine.

Delicious Wrapper! Puro Vitola: 5″ x 40, bunching method: Entubar… Leaf scent: chocolate and tobacco.. Cold draw: chocolate, rich tobacco… Upon first light, the flavor of chocolate covered cherries (mild sweetness) is unmistakable… This flavor remains consistent through the entire smoking experience, with no bitterness noted. No bite whatsoever; pleasant smooth retrohale with cocoa and mild white pepper flavors.

It strikes me as a rustic looking wrapper. The veins are kinda big. The color can be mottled, streaky or even spotty resembling leopard spots or snake skin. I’ve found many leaves that are plenty large enough for me, presenting fewer challenges than some other wrapper leaves. It is a fairly thick leaf, elastic and durable. As such, I’ve tended to give it a little more dry time after rolling. For me it’s a good wrapper for “whenever”.
