T-13 cigar filler is an experimental cross of Criollo 98 and Piloto Cubano that were grafted. This type took 13 years to develop. Flavor notes, nutty, cinnamon, nutmeg, cocoa, and cherries. The burn was excellent and it left a noticeable chocolate aftertaste.
This product is of a Viso priming which means thinner leaves, higher combustibility, and lower nicotine. Some forum members at FairTradeTobacco recommend this product be blended with our Cibao Valley Vuelta Abajo Seco.
As with all Whole Leaf Tobacco products, the leaf is packaged in vapor-proof bags and in perfect order for working when it arrives to you. The leaf will remain in perfect condition for at least a year if unopened. Once opened, any unused leaf can be saved in this condition by re-using the packaging. Simply fold the opened end and sealing it with tape.

I’m not sure if this leaf can be had anywhere else but, I have seen it being used in some commercial sticks. One of my favorite leaves. Goes in a lot of blends. Good stuff!

The first batch of this I got was instantly my favorite. The flavor was all kitchen spices without being overwhelming.
The second batch is tasty and I’m using it as binder as well as filler, but not as flavorful. I’m still happy with it, and will order it again.

I was blown away when I tried this leaf. It has a rich Domonican backbone of sweet earthy cream, with dark nougat and some raisin (which was a great surprise!) Impossible to beat the value for such an outstanding leaf.

This is a great Viso! Flavors I get are earthy, baking spice, and hints of cream.

this filler may have added the spiciness to my blend, very subtle and smooth, slightly sweet.. it was kinda thin for a viso but my blend doesn’t have any burning issues so its a win for me

When I first read how this leaf was created, I thought “what’s not to like?” A cross between two great leaves. It doesn’t disappoint. some of my best tasting cigars contain the T13 Viso. It’s smooth, flavorful and burns well.

This has been my favorite filler for a few years. It’s a very unique mild filler.
The last couple packages have arrived with an unusually high moisture content for filler. It’s also had a very strong ammonia odor. Drying it and separating the leaves so it can air out seems to help but the ammonia smell never goes away completely.
I hope this is a short term problem because this truly is a fantastic filler when it’s not over hydrated.

We do not hydrate the filler before shipping. All tobacco does not arrive in 100% ideal condition to roll and smoke. Leaf tobacco is an agricultural product…not a tobacco product. It is a raw form ingredient used to make tobacco products. In that leaf tobacco is not a manufactured product; you are expected to do the manufacturing yourself. One of the manufacturing steps you might need to take is hydrating the tobacco or drying the tobacco to a condition you think fit for creating the product you desire.
Ammonia is a natural byproduct of aging tobacco. All organic material will release ammonia as it ages, composts, decays, or in the case of tobacco…ferments. Once the organic material is dried to a point where decomposition stops, so does the ammonia release from the material.

I used this in several blend combinations. It really shines when coupled with Piloto Cubano and Pelo D’Oro fillers, an Olor binder and a Cameroon wrapper. I had some cigars I rolled of this blend with a year of age on them and they were outstanding. Very flavorful and good burn qualities. Recommended.
