Description
VA 309 is a domestic tobacco that is a cross between VA 312 and Lizard Tail Orinoco. It is often used in tandem with a domestic tobacco blend of burley and flue cured for creating a traditional European type cigarette. It is also widely used to make smokeless tobacco (snus/dip) and as a cigar filler.
A beloved Kentucky grown tobacco, these fire-cured tobacco leaves are fired at low heat. This results in and exceptional color. Once the color is achieved, the temperature is increased to cure down to the mid-rib of the leaf and darken further. You will find that this product possesses a smoky taste along with hints of roasted hickory, oak, or maple.
