I got a some sample leafs from LO and needless to say I shoulda listen to y'all. About a quarter of the Virginia is moldy, this was before I knew that WL sells 1 lb samples... I got some Virginia and Oriental, I know I got some syrup and was gonna get a couple shooters of Jack Daniels honey or some fireball or captain Morgan? Would I mix the alcohol and maple syrup about half and half with water or could I go alittle stronger and say about 1/3 water?? Thanks y'all

If I'm using extracts, what ratio should I mix at? 5 parts water to 1 part extract? I tried looking and couldn't find an exact mixture

My experience is that you simply need to guess, try, then refine. Every extract is going to be different. Alcohol based vanilla extract can be used as is. 1:5 of that extract to tobacco will be noticeable, so like a tsp per ounce. I've gone as high as 1:1 an ounce vanilla, an ounce tobacco, and used it as a blending component. However, I've used anise extract and a few drops was too much.

Take notes. Have fun.

Tobacco absorbs smells you can mist the leaf with brandy and it will absorb that Flavour. Simple really
Several years ago I grew some Virginia. Didn't have a clue what I was doing so just winged it.
Sun dried it became brittle so I sprayed it with a 50% water, 25% brandy, 25% port mix.
Dried it. Resprayed with same mixture and allowed to dry again.

It felt like soft leather so I left it at that. Stored for a few months before shredding & jarred it for several months.
Friends smoked it as RYO & thought it was rather good, while I used it to mix with commercial blends to smoke in my pipe.
The odd thing was that there was no obvious taste of brandy nor port.
