I've noticed that when I add Bergamot food grade essential oil to my snus it produces steam or smokes. Is that normal?
I let my snus cool after taking it out of the instant pot. This time the snus wasn't alkalized, just tobacco, water, and salt in there.
I added propylene glycol and Bergamot essential oil, and it starts steaming or giving off a smoke. The snus is slightly warm and not hot, especially not hot enough to vaporize anything into steam.
It's obviously reacting with something, not sure if it's the propylene glycol, or the tobacco. I'm just wondering if that's normal or I got some strange Bergamot oil that I shouldn't buy again. The brand is Viva Doria, it's bottled in the US and claims to be food grade. The propylene glycol is from Simple Nature and claims to be 99.9% pure. Both purchased from Amazon.
This is only my 3rd batch of snus so not sure if that's normal or not. But I swear the steam happened with every batch, unless I'm hallucinating but don't think so.
