It just used to bunch the filler and compress by squeezing as tight as I can. I kind of work it from both sides a couple of times. It only takes a minute or two if the case is right then I place the bundle in the binder like normal to roll.
It is made from a scrap of deer hide. I will use it for a while as is since it only took a few minutes to make before making a permanet one. I see room for improvement.

This has got to be, for me...one of the neatest threads here! I love making my own tools and I see plenty of neat ideas here...and interesting banter as well! Carry on!

I'm wondering if cow hide will work? Maybe too thick.
Great idea!

Aviation snips, $1 worth of 22ga sheet steel, a file and some sandpaper.

Drawn up on a piece of cardstock, 7" by 3.25".

I used a 15 inch round pizza stone for the blade curve template.

Works great- rolled these beauties with it, no mold-

Nice DIY! ... since your so heavy on the cheap hear,... I fully expect a complete line of vintage styles. yeah, not really but that would be exceptional.
And I see your other posts and, I'll just say it here. Nice lookin sticks!

As a new member to the site I want to thank you guys for posting these DIY tools and ideas. I'm just getting ready to start rolling my own cigars soon and these ideas are great for making or finding some tools I might need.
Thanks all and keep posting and rolling.

I believe that if you were to put a piece of pic over the wood roller it will work. The wood Waller is not allowing it to role over on the material.
