I remember a time when people would actually try to help themselves when they were out of work. The government has created an entire generation (or two) of people who know they don't have to take care of themselves.

I've been in the construction industry for almost 30 years and I've never had a harder time finding people to work. Everyone wants office jobs that pay $50 an hour or at the very least, they want a union job where all they have to do is "show up" to get paid.

It very well may take another depression to erase the memory of big government being the answer to all of the problems we all encounter on a daily basis.

I like it when people have money to hire me for what I do best ,but when times are slow I enjoy living off the land as much as possible, and i'ts more satisfying working for myself than other people. As far as hiring people to help me I can't afford to train anyone to do what I do for the prices I have had to charge to get my jobs. The local people in my area {been here 8 years} have less experience and want more per hour than I charge for myself. I don't wish a depression on anyone but I know I would survive just fine.
