Yes. I've never seen one. Listed as NOS. It almost looks as if the cutting blade can be angled. It doesn't seem it would work that way. The drawing on the top looks to be pictured in the open position. Love this design period.

Coming from someone who has an old nos cutter on the way that I honestly feel I like I over paid for — and I got it at a bargain — would anyone really pay that much for something that’s been replaced by several items you can get at a craft store? I don’t think I would go anywhere near this with a price like that. Not unless I was some sort of fancy collector and just had disposable income, and wasn’t trying to actually use it…

Really beautiful piece, I guess call my reaction sticker shock.

My impression is that the swing arm is heavy enough to lift the entire device base off of the table (if not screwed down), when the arm rests in the fully open position. The only stop appears to be a small pip of brass extending from the near side of each swing joint. Seems like those would actually strike the table surface.

I'm wrong about striking the table surface. I just noticed the full front view. The stops strike a part of the metal base. But the sketches on the box are different from the actual device.
