Has anybody ever tried to use flavored bakery emulsions in pipe tobacco blends, either in the casing and/or topping process?
Various formulations of food flavorants from LorAnn Oils have been discussed a number of times for pipe tobacco flavorants as well as smokeless preparations.

Each person has his or her own taste. I prefer tobacco that is free of any added flavorants.

The glycerine based hazelnut flavoring from The Flavor Apprentice has been fun to blend with. I've used it on burley with good results. Compliments the leaf nicely and makes the room note very friendly to bystanders

No, not even when smoked alone. It doesn't take much at all either, a milliliter or two diluted with a bit of water for an ounce of dry leaf will be enough even if you're going to blend the final product. If you end up with something that's moist and clumpy like commercial aromatics you used way too much. I've been working on sort of an American English aromatic and even with a small amount of the burley the room note isn't overtaken by Latakia and smells a lot like some kind of vanilla

Smoking some McCormick pure anise extract on some PA binder in my pipe. Ingredients: alcohol, water & oil of anise. Anise tames this leaf well and brings out some great, rich flavors. Lucky for me I enjoy the anethole flavor as I understand some people don’t like “licorice”. IMO can be used as a topping or mixed into a casing.

The PA binder smells like chocolate In the bag. My wife thought I was cooking brownies when I was toasting some. It is certainly more flavorful than the DAC. It is a bit tougher to tame. I’m still getting to know it but am sure glad I have some.
