Howdy all, I'm new to the forum. I've been a cigar smoker since before it was legal for me to be smoking them. That was 50 years ago, now that I've dated myself. I recently got interested in rolling my own, which is how I stumbled across this forum. I figured I brew my own beer- why not roll my own stoggies? A get back to nature thing-right??? I'm playing around with the concept of executing my own DIY rolling machine. Any suggestions as to what type of material the commercial rolling machines use for the belt?

Is this the kind of thing you are asking about?

I believe commercial ones use a sort of coated canvas.
With limited availability locally for me, my two machines use a shower curtain. Works well, no stretch, waterproof. You have to heat seal your edges to prevent unraveling. Anyways, sometimes the best material is the stuff you can get your hands on.

You can also ask from a local fabric store if theres some PVC coated fabric which is rigid enough not to stretch

I have read that canvas is a pretty good material to use.
