I was wondering if a plug cutter can work as a tuck cutter. You guys think or know if it'll cut or if it'll just crush the cigar? Rope isn't something I've made yet but eventually will. It would be cool if the cutter can be dual duty. Let me know what you think.

I would say the advantages to a tuck cutter are ease of length adjustment and an even/straight cut. Which the plug cutter has little of like a chaveta knife.
A good sized guillotine cutter works well.

I don't think the plug cutter would cut cigars properly. It's better with rounded blades (or it will make you cigars flat)

P.s. The blade seems in place

Plug cutter will crush/flatten a cigar, only one flat blade on one side of the cut, made specifically for cutting heavy wet pressed dense flat plugs and flakes.

Tuck cutters have concave blades, one on each side of the cut, made specifically for very lightly formed cigars with draw.

Just buy a cheap, two-blade guillotine cigar clipper--unless you aspire to become a factory.
