It will be interesting to compare the performance of the plants outdoors, during the growing season.

I’m honestly not expecting much difference between the CO2 “boosted” plants, and the normal air plants. My hope was to try and speed up the 2 week lag time in growth after sprouting that tobacco plants seem to undergo. It did seem to help.
I’m hoping to try the experiment again with Yellow Twist Bud seeds, but space is at a premium, as is wife tolerance, since the 2 year old likes to “help”, and the 1 month old needs constant feeding.

I don't think they are actually lagging. I think the growth occurs underground while they are putting down roots. It only appears that growth has stopped because we cannot see it happening.

I predict they a' gonna die. They need oxygen too.
The fermentation doesn’t produce CO2 fast enough to displace all the oxygen. I’ll lift the covers twice a day to give them completely fresh air. Gas from a pressurized tank, or a massive amount of vinegar/baking soda might drown them, though.
If we learn something new, it will be a good death.

My scientific opinion is that inquisitive 2-year-olds will drink anything contained within a bottle that they are able to reach and open.

Mine uses new liquids to test the gravity in the area: is gravity still working here? Liquid is on the floor. Stable. Next!
I have an area of window sill behind the couch that is unreachable by him, but I’ll move the stuff so the pictures are clearer, provided I can actually start the experiment.
