Some Virginia Bright Leaf I started on the 25th five days ago

Looks good. Don't forget to give them a shot of Epson Salts (1 teaspoon to a gallon of water) in about 2 - 3 weeks or as soon as they start getting pale.

Nice start....when do you plan to put 'em in the ground?

In the middle of May or maybe earlier depending on the weather..
I cut the skin that surrounds the peat moss pad and transfer them to
a bigger container after a few weeks then out to the ground.
I'm just growing 40 plants this year
last year I grew 60

Thanks for posting. I look forward to hearing how those Jiffy pellets do. My first attempt at growing Tobacco was with Jiffy pellets (I kind of screwed that one up pretty bad though....).

I haven't lost one yet, last year they did just fine
It's when they go in the ground that you really got to keep an eye on them
Last year one got screwed up by this guy.

That's a cutworm
If you look at this picture there is a plant in the very front that is very small it was from
cutworm damage it never got very big so I just pulled it month or so after when this picture was taken

It's not bad not super great but not bad.

Compared to some Virginia Bright Leaf to the left a little
I still haven't got the damn flash figured out there are so many damn settings
on this digital camera I just point and shoot any more

The Burley is over twice as big at this point than the Bright Leaf
The Burley has some tiny dirt particles on the leaves
I brushed most of them off after I put them in the cups.

I put the nitrogen out in my little patch yesterday Per Tanya at Waters Agriculture Labs
1/2 pound of nitrate of soda.Per my soil test and square footage of my patch.

It's the T5 Lights There just like high noon energy wise
Right by the plants is an slightly open window and at night it's closer to
outside temperatures but still about 10 degrees warmer but
by the time i put them outside it will be warmer outside pretty close to what
it is now inside so I won't have to get them hardened to withstand the transplant shock.
What I mean is there won't be a super big difference in the temperatures,,,, it's the wind and bugs
that hamper things from that point.
