My Bolivian Black Criollo just started to bud. Hopefully there will be enough time to get seeds from it.

The Bolivian Black Criollos have gotten past six feet high now. The leaves looks really nice. Here are a couple of pictures of them.

The Hungarian Baiano is not only very productive of large leaves, it's going nuts creating seed. Here is a picture of the seed bag for the Baiano I bagged. The thing's about to explode.

They look great.

With my Bolivia Criollo Black, I've been waiting until the three lowest leaves show yellowish tips, then priming three leaves on all the Bolivia plants. They have color cured rapidly to a reddish, light gold. Huge, heavy leaves. High leaf count. Very tall.

Bob is right, the Bolivian Black cures like a dream. I also continue to be impressed with the Hungarian Baiano. Cures very well, beautiful reddish color, no problems with pests (the aphids left them alone), tall plants with big leaves spaced close together. If it tastes halfway decent, it's a keeper.

I've got 11 whole stalks hanging in the garage now, and a few hundred primed leaves hanging.

The One Sucker looks amazing when it yellows. Most of the leaves stay that dark green, but round spots of deep bright yellow appear.

The first picture is without a flash. The second two are with flash which made the yellow lighter than it is. The pics are a little blurry, I guess I got too close to the leaves.

I'm 90% harvested now, or more. Today, I did an empty test run of johnlee's hand me down refrigerator kiln. John, it's working perfectly! I'm going to load it on Sunday with the four or five hands from the flue cure experiment, as well as a lot of the 2012 crop and some of the leaves from this year that have already dried. I'm really excited about this. Having to wait a whole year to age leaf was no fun.

I have to admit that a years worth of natural ageing plus a month kilning is fantastic. I have been impressed with the difference of a year.

A years natural ageing hanging in a shed with a months kilning at 120-125 degrees at an approximate 70 % humidity,
The difference was worth between like and dislike a 7 or 8 on the like factor.
