Since those multi-blade scissors are intended for snipping herbs, like chives, I'm wondering how quickly they gum-up from cutting tobacco, and how you go about cleaning off the gunk. (That concern has dampened my urge to purchase a pair of them.)

Bob
I've only had them a couple of weeks, and I had the same concern when ordering them, but they do great. Now granted you have to use small bites, but when they tend to jam up and they do, I just open and close several times and then push together from the outside and they clear. I used on various levels of moist to dry leaves and again, if in small bites they do great with no residue left on or between the blades. Now I would not use them to do a whole lot of leaves, but more so when tailoring pipe cut for cigarette cut. Like right now, I'm processing my latest leaf buys and am guessing I have about seven more pounds to destem, then will shred and store at the pipe cut size. When mixing for my cigarette blends is when I will start using them again. Also, at $7.00 a pair, figured I couldn't go wrong with trying them out.

Cheers

Bob, I would imagine pouring some boiling water on the blades would clean them the same as my heavy duty shredder. The gunk just melts off and washes away. You could literally hold the scissors over the kitchen sink by the handle, angle the blades down, and carefully pour from the tea kettle.

Recieved my order today from WLT
Very fast indeed and no duty owing.
All the leafs look great, the Virginia and katerini are pretty low case but I pulled a few leaves out and gave them a quick spray. I pulled roughly enough out to make some pearl of Shibam for starters.
I'm very excited
Thinking I should have ordered more perique though.
Hopefully they have some left in stock by the time of my next order.
They even tossed in a few gifts for me. A pen and a corkscrew/bottle opener.
Very, very pleased overall
Thanks WLT

I just cut up the mix and have it resting for the flavors to meld.
The aroma is amazing with this blend. The perique is definatly what I have been missing.
I have been smoking my random mixes exclusively for years now. I haven't bought a commercial tin in so long I forgot what that perique brings to the table in a blend.
I can't wait to give it a try.
The aroma is making me crave a nice VaPer flake now however.
At near $60 plus shipping per 50g tin I doubt I'll be tasting one soon. Might have to try my hand at pressing some next

Had a closer look at the maryland 609 this morning and looks like lots of stems are growing a bit of mold. I cut open the bag and pulled a leaf out, sure enough it's starting to spread to the leaf too. Guess I'll have lots of de-stemming to do latter this evening.
I have some cut up and ready to try in a cob strait. I'm looking forward to seeing how this leaf tastes strait. Keep in mind I smoke burley strait sometimes, so this should be enjoyable as well

I usually try to get the main stem (mid rib) out of all my leaf right away to prevent any mold, especially here in Florida. Also If I don't use all of the leaf, I'll leave it right in the bags they are packaged in, I've never had any problems keeping them inside of my 30 gallon igloo water cooler. The cooler stays in the a/c so it keeps very well until I need some. The maryland 609 is a really good leaf. I had some a few days ago that I bought a while back and the nuttiness I'm getting is really good.
