First press: Pasta Press

I wanted to press something with a new pasta press so I threw in about 40% Virginia, 40% Kentucky burley, 20% dark fired. Here is the photo. It is a very good , produces clouds of smoke and I like it better than Irish Flake.

I used this knife to slice it. 5 days in the press. sprayed with honey water, 1 tsp to a cup of water. very smooth smoke

I'm not clear about what kind of press was used. Can you post a photo of the press?

This is the pasta press. $18 from Amazon. I used the smallest noodle attachment and covered the holes with tin foil ,I placed the tobacco in a baggie so it would come out easily after pressing.

That is way more nuanced than the caulk gun press I've seen posted on another site.

These are sold domestically and on Chinese stores as aluminum "pollen presses" ***** they don't want to advertise that fact. You can find them at the hydro stores too and on Amazon $15-25 with T-handle $10 without a T-handle. For tobacco they are good for making small plugs, maybe with a touch of honey to (try to) eliminate harsh smoke for people who are just starting out growing tobacco that don't have a kiln yet and don't want to wait for aging. Once they try their tobacco that has aged properly they usually don't use the pollen press method as much.

I'm not familiar with a pollen press but it sounds interesting. What I used was a noodle press. It comes with several bottom attachments for making different sizes of pasta noodles, check out hand noodle presses on google and you will probably find the same one as pictured in my post. There are also a few videos on YouTube using the same press. Watch the prices on Amazon. They vary considerably for the same press. It's important to remember to use the attachment with the smallest holes and to cover them inside with a cutout piece of metal, or as I did, several layers of tin foil cut round to cover the bottom holes. My noodle press has worked way better than I ever thought it would. Happy smoking.

They do vary considerably as well as the packaging. Same item with new plastic items thrown in and then being sold as a bee keeping honey press.

Your pasta maker package is definitely the better buy for the price and your plugs are bigger than the pollen press.
