Hello! First year growing tobaccco, started off with Ontario Bold and Ontario Light only because I found them at a seed store. I am interested in air cured varieties with a shorter growing season as well as Rusticas. Bought a variety of seeds including Burley Dark, Little Dutch and Perique to plant next season. Any suggestions on faster growing, faster air curing varieties are appreciated.

This is my Ontario Bold freshly cut and hanging in the garage.

Welcome to the forum. Your lovely, hanging stalks look to me like a white-stem burley. Read through the New Growers' FAQ, linked in the menu bar. You may wish to scan through the topics in our Index of Key Forum Threads.

I would suggest that there are very few Nicotiana tabacum varieties that cannot be grown to maturity in Edmonton. White-stem burleys will easily color to brown, but will require some additional weeks of color-curing to clear all the proteins and carbs from the lamina (because their chlorophyll clearance happens faster than the other, necessary biochemical processes of color-curing).
