Harvest of Sucker Leaf

Have anybody tried harvest two times on the same root.
Last year I cut the stems and hang them ..pulled up the roots ..but missed one .
Golden Burley matures in 50 days ..a little water and a little care ..???

Allowing the base of a cut tobacco stalk to produce another stalk in the same season produces what are commonly called sucker leaves. They can be productive, though the quality of the leaves is sometimes lower than from the primary crop. The greatest challenge with a sucker crop in a single growing season is the date (time of year) when it finally matures and can be harvested. For many locations, the ideal curing weather will have passed, and the sucker leaf must be cured in conditions that may be too cool to get a satisfactory result.

Tobacco roots that successfully overwinter may harbor tobacco pests.

I've also found that I cannot tell much difference between Prilep 66-9/7 primary leaf and its sucker leaf. I forgot about that one.

I harvested a second growth of Bahia in my 2021 grow. But I also live on the 32nd parallel and have a season long enough to do that. As for the difference in quality, that will remain unknown to me as I accidentally mixed all my second harvest with the wrong variety.

I did a sucker crop one year (I can’t remember what year but it’s in one of my grow blogs from about 7 years ago give or take). If I remember correctly, the timing of allowing one of the bottom suckers to grow just before the harvest is completed on the main stalk is crucial. When the harvest is completed on the main stalk, I cut above the bottom sucker and let it grow. I believe I had some plants even throw out 3 suckers, however, one sucker is better so all the energy goes into those leaves.
They may not be the same leaf quality as the first main stalk harvest, but done right, it gets very close to it and can increase your overall yield by more than half again.

? Is this normal ..that already now shows suckers on my new plants ..do I transplant them to soon ?

Is this normal ..

Some years, I see more suckering of small seedlings, compared to other years. It also seems to vary with the tobacco variety. Just pluck them off.
