Hello, all,

I have until now been active mostly over at pipesmagazine.com. Unwanted changes to the pipe tobaccos I have loved, the disappearances of others, and the threatened disappearance of still more have spurred me to take more control over my tobacco.

I have some open acreage with good Northwest Missouri soil I can plant, but my next step is to buy whole leaf and develop my own casings/toppings. I first want to recreate the rose geranium flavor and potency of Condor and Gawith Hoggarth’s Grasmere. It looks like some of you have been working at making your own Lakeland essence, so I should be in good company.

I look forward to a whole lot of learning, but I also hope to be able to make my own contributions in the (perhaps distant) future.
