My silver river have gotten so sticky I was thinking of cutting a"patch"derm the green leaf and putting it on my arm to see if it worked.

You'll start seeing a bunch of drunk bees (mostly Yellow Jackets...I know they're wasps, but you know what I mean) all over the leaves soon. Then it will be time to start planning your harvest.

Lol! Before I met Will anything with wings and buzzed was a bee and I would panic and run for my daddy. Yes even til I was 25. Now I stand in swarms of thousands with no equipment on with no fear.
our plants are pretty sticky too. I'll watch for odd bee / wasp behaviour.

I lot of bees go in my can collection and quite a few die in thir. Has that caused problems for colonies?

I don't think honey bee mess with cans much, but them yellow jackets will, them mean MF'ers.
It's a good thing you didn't use that baccy leaf like a fig leaf to cover up the boys.
