I'm always looking for ways to make things easier! I will stalk cure a few each of my 15 varieties and prime the rest. Come this fall, after they are all cured and fermented I'll give out various products to my friends for their opinion ( cigarettes, cigars, chew and pipe tobacco). I'll let you know the results maybe October or so. You're right with your observation, a few leaves are getting ripe but like i said earlier, I have a tendency to prime earlier than most people.

As far as the guatemalen you sent . I'm not sure if the cig. sample was primed and the cigar "tops" were stalk cured but they both seemed fairly mild. I'm not sure if I could tell the difference other than a darker color on tops and just a bit more robust. I managed to replant a dozen seedlings by not seeding all at once when the fungus gnats invaded me but I'm keeping a close eye on them. As for the silver river, I'm growing about 25 for my self and giving several to a friends wife . The stalk cured and primed seemed very similar also. As for the huehuetenago I've got a couple from my first start and a new tray sprouting now, and have spread a few around to other members. thats a good cigar smoke also. I'm down to less than half my cig. intake and about 2-3 cigars a day now. Thanks.
