I'm really pretty fascinated with this new wrapper leaf, so I processed three leaves to test fire. After grading out leaves not suitable for wrappers, I stripped them and just let them sit under the ceiling fan. Within a few minutes, they were dry enough to roll without compressing and just pliable enough not to crumble.

I smoke a medium sized cigar, (mainly because of a time management thing), so I was a little surprised to see I only used 1 1 /2 leaves to make the cigar which includes the binder and wrapper.

Here is a color comparison, the top cigar is from the light Shade wrapper, the middle is from an RSE leaf and the bottom is the new wrapper. The entire cigar is made from the new wrapper leaf...just couldn't resist.

After rolling the CT Broadleaf cigar, I let it age for two long days...



It fired up with no problem even though it was fresh. It had a super thick smoke with the slightest draw. As you can see, the ash hung on for a good inch and was almost white in color. It was quite a bit stronger in a cigar than in my pipe, but there was a lot more tobacco burning in the cigar than in the pipe. I smoked about half of it and because I tried inhaling a little, my chest started to hurt a little. The flavor was rich and a little sweet with a nice nutty finish. There was a little bite toward the half way point when I let it go out. About a half an hour later, I re-lit it and it didn't perform nearly as well as it did when first lit.

I'm sure this wrapper will be excellent with a BBB (bigbonner burley) and Havana 142 blend.

Nice lookin' cigars

They look great ! Of real interest to me as I have quite a lot of damaged CT shade leaf good for nothing but filler.

Quick report -- Irene has come and gone. I got wiped out so and done with growing a little early this year. I haven't gotten in touch with my farm guy to see how he made out. I had no power for four days and went back to my "no electricity" childhood. No real strain tho I lost some frozen stuff. Power came on early this AM and I got a (SHOWER) God, I was ripe !

I just couldn't resist rolling one of my 6" x 1/2" cigarserettes using the VBN wrapper with some silver leaf. If you like cigarettes you might like like this. The 2 unique flavors mixed together are quite different. You can take a huge drag and not even be cautious about inhaling to much smoke.

After I butcher my chickens I take their feet and soak them in a mild nitric acid solution to which I add cat fur ( from the tail). After this soaks for 24 hours I add an equal amount of raw goat milk. I then boil this down to a syrup like consistency. Once cool I take a few slugs and mix it all together. Makes a really nice snotty type glue......oh wait a minute.. that's for something else. Actually, I just use gum tragecenth or sometimes pectin

LOL, couldn't you just scrape up a few slug trails and use that.

The pectin works great as a glue but, the box I bought and tried leaves a salty taste if smoked right away. Its called sure-jell 100% natural fruit pectin. Maybe if I ever gave it a chance to dry before smoking.[just thought of that.] reading the box they make another type for recipes w/ less sugar.
