I have grown Madole before and it air cures nicely to a dark brown color. It's a dark variety. It traditionally was fire cured but I've only tried that with a small batch (unprofessionally) on my smoker. It turned out nice though. It's also nice just air cured. It's a good multi use variety for cigar, pipe and cigarette blends. It grew a little over 5 feet high, had a decent yield and no disease issues when I grew it this past summer and last winter.
I have heard small stalk black mammoth is also a good dark tobacco for multiple purposes and with a good yield. I have not tried growing that variety (yet) though. I may be mistaken but I seem to recall hearing something about that variety being a little tricky to cure or age. I think that variety is also a little more photoperiod sensitive, if so that may cause issues if it's grown indoors.
I have no experience with greenwood but if
@Knucklehead is recommending it then it's got to be good.
