New seed starting lights have made a world of difference for my seedlings!
And giving full strength triple-20 after the 1st true leaves appear seems to work just fine!

Xanthi was outgrowing the seed tray.
Transferred 8 to 6” pots. Ran out of coconut coir. Hydrating more now. Will finish the last 4 tomorrow. Placed the 8 on the balcony, which is sheltered from the frosts.
Also seeded a pot with Tranzon-2, and put it on the heat mat.
Chose it as a back up variety because of its fast maturation time.
Always. Plant. Backups.
The first balcony/windowsill plants have been placed outside.
Hoping the metal pipe will keep the Virginia Gold in the large pot warm, and the garage wall with morning sunlight will keep the Bursa warm.
My final frost date isn’t until mid-May, but no more are anticipated, and the local old ladies have been asking when my “interesting plants” will come back…
“Samsoun Orient” from Tabakanbau (https://www.tabakanbau.de/de/shop.php?id=33628).
Easily managed seedlings in small trays. I grew it based on an old post from the description by FTT forum user Planter.
Hopefully it makes as nice a cigarette as it does seedlings!
6 Prilep were transplanted (early- one month old, 2.5” tall, above the soil line, 1.5” buried) to 8-10L brown pots, and placed next to the Bursa against the garage wall. 3 more were repotted into 2”
square pots and kept inside.
5 Jaffna volunteered to be the test pilots for the native soil in my garden. The soil is VERY heavy clay, lightened up with 300kg of course sand (not close to enough).
The ground was tilled, then each plant was placed into a 6 gallon hole about 3 feet deep, dug out and broken up with a shovel.
Later plants will likely receive more compost and other amendments.
They are at 60cm spacing between them.
Up-potted twelve KY17 burley seedlings that were way too crowded in the small green trays. Moved to windowsill to harden off, because the greenhouse hasn’t been assembled yet.
