Yeah, I worry about bugs. Most of the tobacco I get (if not all of it) is exposed to the air in some way...sometimes for years. There is always the chance of getting bugs with the tobacco. I've been lucky and have only had a small amount of them in the past, but this one was bad.

I keep the pheromone traps all over the warehouse and have never had anything close to this before.

One of the advantages of being a supplier of small quantities is having a use for small lots. Such an opportunity presented itself so I grabbed it.

The newest member to the line-up is Sanchez Oscuro. This is from the 1995 crop year. It's very smooth as you might imagine having been aged for 17 years. The flavor is earthy with a slight pepper aroma in the thick smoke. The aftertaste has a pleasant nutty taste.

It is a fine art to describe something that is so hard to put into words regarding the Sanchez Oscuro. I tried and couldn't do it till I had to search and find the appropiate description. For what its worth I could not put the taste into words. I like the slight after pepper taste,It was never expected, and extremealy smooth.

I think i need to get into politics and change a few laws regarding tobacco down here in NZ
I am off to re read the law regarding import again and see if its worth it
