Welcome! I think the hardest thing you will face will be only growing 3 varieties and then which ones!

So many strains to try, so little time:)

Welcome and best of luck. I managed to keep it to only 4 varieties my first year. have probably 30 varieties of seed.
My vote so far for cigarettes is Yellow Twist Bud for sure. Stalk harvest most of it and prime some for a milder tobacco, and maybe Monte Calm Yellow. I am still waiting for the MCY to reveal it's true taste.
Stalk harvesting gives me a strong tobacco while priming makes a really light tobacco in both cases. having both lets you blend them to your taste.

Just the two alone is still not quite what I am lookign for but it is a start.

Daniel,

Try adding a couple plants of Samson 15. It's a really strong Oriental so you might be able to blend 5% into your cigarettes rather than the typical 15% with less flavorful Orientals.

Daniel, how long have you saved any monte. I've stalk cured and primed the last 2 years, This year I primed lower and mid level leaves and stalk cured the upper most plant. I'm going to light to medium press me a bale of several lbs. [several small bales] to store for a few years because I have so much. Am looking forward to next years season after what I have learned. I will be growing many varietys. I hope my work slows down come spring time or people will be wondering where the hell am I.

BarG, My MCY is only a few months old at most right now. We placed it in the kiln tonight. The YTB is aging real well all on it's own in about 90 days but the MCY does not seem to want to be so easy. I plan to keep everything in the kiln for 30 days and then sample it.
