oven,deep fry or smoked?

I'm a traditionalist. The day starts with the house filled with the smell sauteing onions and celery for the stuffing. Then the bird goes in the oven for 4 - 5 hours.

Frying just doesn't seen right (and enough good oil costs as much as a turkey), oven is good but the breast meat generally ends up too dry and bland. I have taken a liking to the smoker the last few years. Stuffed with well seasoned wild/long grain rice instead of the traditional bread stuffing.

That all sounds good. When I use the oven(the wifes preference) I cook it breast down to keep it moist then turn over to brown. I smoke every year. I did one time, deep fry one. Bad call! It popped oil 35 bucks worth, all over the side walk and burnd My finger, made the neigbor laugh at Me and then I shut it down. The bird was crispy dry black and dry in the mid. still pink and went to the dog. Had to go to plan "B" the bird I saved for plan "B". Had the smoker all ready to go. Went inside lickin My hurts and pride.Told My wife I had a fryer that needs a diferent use .So a moon shine still came in mind. She had all the inside fixins coverd Caus She knew what was goin on out side with My great idea of entrtainin the neighbors.Six hrs. of smokin out them yolk birds that was makin fun of Me paid off.LOL Linda now uses a roaser oven now.The bird comes out perfect. That was a far better idea than I had!!!! Now the oven gets room to make other things.

Knucklehead....Never mind... You are a beast ... I dont even have somthin to say to that....I'll let the road runner just run...One day I'll pm Ya on a story about that one caus it aint on ....(My wife)LOL

I like it anyway I can get it without my wife making it.
First year with her She Cooked it with all the gizzards still inside.
I was taking all the stuffing out then comes a neck, liver, heart, ect.
and they were still cold. Really grossed out my folks but that was 25 yrs. ago. they are gonna try turkey again this year over my place again. They might have forgot by now. Hope they bring there own hatchets.

Spices and acid reflux don't mix. If I eat the wrong thing I'm miserable.

I will stop at the local butcher a get some fresh legs and breasts and have the grill fired up just in case.

Eat some Prilosec befor dinner and eat wat Ya want. I aint no docter (only animals and me) My Wife does and She dont have any probs. All I can say is give it a test run befor turkey day to see? Cant hurt?????? That ain't no fix. Just a temp...

Just set up the 84" screen for the holliday. I don't do sports, just for the company- I do like the Macy day par. And Anaheim steam roller. So I have a set to watch them just below it, so every one can see like I do. Cool or wat????
