Bob I haven't given them a cold draw yet and they are still a lil damp, but I have rolled some similar that have smoked quite well. I do like a lil bit of resistance or tighter draw due to some of my first sticks ever rolled were way to loose and drove me crazy. I am fairly new to rolling my own and my first 200'ish that I rolled were done using a tri-fold book method of bunching. Using this book method I did learn, during the binding process, how tight was too tight. However, I am even newer to the entubado style of bunching and hope they are not too tight. This is why I will only roll about 4-6 sticks and will a wait a few weeks to try at least one of em out and see. I will definitely report back once I give em a try though. How well do they draw?

Just a revisit, finally smoked one today and Holy Cow. First off burn and construction were spot on. Draw was a little tight but I fixed it with my skewer.View attachment 54363View attachment 54364
Another test blend, but I have high hopes it will bring a great place to start. The idea here was to blend a stout Criollo 98, with a Sumatra tang.
W- Criollo 98: WLT
B- Double Sumatra: WLT
F- DR Criollo 98 Seco: LO- 1/2
Homegrown Criollo 98: Seco 1, Viso 1

Seems that my torpedo rolling skills actually got better since I took a year break from my old wooden torpedo mold. Caps need refinement but it's partially because the length of the wrapper was a race to the end. Second picture is show-and-tell of the brand new DE humidor I won last week in a Katman swag contest.
I just looked at em, your right, I was in a hurry to put all the knowledge I'd gleaned from FTT and you tube to actually pay attention- thanks for the encouragement!!Those look good for your first rolls! Only comment is it looks like your wrapper is inside out. Keep it up!
Those are cool labels!
Dang, whole cabinet full! Good practice
How long have you been rolling, and how long did that take you to bunch and wrap that group?
I've been rolling for about 2yrs now, both processes took all day.How long have you been rolling, and how long did that take you to bunch and wrap that group?
This is what I enjoy at the hobby level, I look forward to actually having the time to roll so when I get the opportunity I'm more focused on doing everything to the best of my ability.I've been rolling for about 2yrs now, both processes took all day.
Aaah! Say it ain't so, Jux.These just got sliced up for pipe tobacco.
Well…. properly kept for the first half of their lives, I have often cut sections of the foot from one or two of these double coronas for snuff. These four have been sitting in a neglected humidor for the last twelve years. Instead of the painstaking chore of rehydrating them for smoking I thought a quick rehydration for cutting would do just fine. I had a spice jar with some coins from long ago. Put those in a pipe and I was so impressed that the decision was easy. I am a confirmed pipe smoker now.Aaah! Say it ain't so, Jux.
