I was watching snus at home and his additive’s video and was wondering useage rates for 100grams of tobacco recipes. He used roughly a tbsp of the propylene glycol but having trouble finding glycerin useage.

Propylene glycol is better for preserving the snus is it not? I want to be able to carry a can in my pocket and not keep it refrigerated constantly. Would propylene glycol be the better choice for that over glycerin? Thanks

I believe it's not really a "preservative" it's added as a humectant a moisturizer of sorts. It's not really needed I don't think, it just makes it easier to handle. Glycerin adds a bit of sweetness along with being a humectant.

I read somewhere that Swedish match uses 3%. I used 3 grams last batch and am waiting for it to age a bit but definitely forms a prilla no problem. I need to experiment more with grind size. I think my homemade stuff doesn’t get as much saliva penetration into the prilla to release flavors

I’ll have to try it out. When adding liquor I see they’re adding it post cook. If you do it pre cook all the alcohol would be cooked off. I assume reduce your water content if you did it pre cook?
