USPS Sucks

The greenhouse is already jumping with tomato and pepper seedlings and I'm all jazzed to seed
my first tobacco grow, only one problem USPS.

Evidently it takes more than 4 days to get a package less than 200 miles down I-45.

...but Zach the weather has been bad...let me tell you no one around here has even heard of the postman's creed. If the air smells funny they take a day off.

None of that explains why my package gets to the correct distribution center and then takes two days to be sent to the wrong distribution center and back to the correct one.

Let sit for about an hour to make sure the coir that is in the mix expands. Then get to filling.

No-one has ever accused my setup of being off grid

I'm going for it....3 per cell....or maybe 4 or 5 who knows these things are tiny! To make sure I don't mix them up I'm using a new paper bowl for each variety and pulling out one 10 pack at a time from the tray while seeding.

I misted the tops of the medium before starting to seed. Should I mist again after seeding?

I usually mist mine several times a day until they sprout and even a few days after that, but I don't use a dome or cover. Just don't let the surface of your soil dry out and you should be okay. I normally start seeing sprouts after 4 or 5 days. If they are in a cold area, it might take longer.

Heat mats at 85f. Greenhouse ranging approx from 60-80. Was planning on using the domes.

I gave them a mist this morning and put the domes back on. Bonus pic of the peppers and tomatoes.

Texas Cuban has won the germination race with Black Sea Samsun in second place, no action yet on other varieties.

Seeing some sprouts today in Perique and Little Dutch. Staghorn and Southern beauty nada.

At about 14 days after seeding, begin to worry. But give them as much as 30 days to germinate.

I'm going on only five days so no worries at this point. Usually this setup takes 7 days to germinate tomatoes and 14 for peppers, so seeing sprouting at 3 & 4 days makes me feel good that I'm in the ballpark on the method.
